VERITAS Software and INRANGE Technologies Partner to Simplify Enterprise SAN Management

INRANGE to Distribute and Resell VERITAS SANPoint Control in Conjunction With

Enterprise SANs and Consulting Services

LUMBERTON, N.J. and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., SAN Vision Summit, March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS), The Data Availability Company, and INRANGE Technologies (Nasdaq: INRG) today announced that they have entered into a strategic agreement to co-market and distribute VERITAS SANPoint Control(TM) (please see related announcements dated today) and engage in additional joint initiatives. Beginning Q2 2001 INRANGE Technologies will bundle with its IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) Fibre Channel Director a time-out version of VERITAS SANPoint Control, a solution to simplify and centralize the management of heterogeneous storage area networks (SANs).

VERITAS SANPoint Control identifies and visualizes INRANGE's FC/9000 director and edge switches on Sun Solaris(TM) and Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) and Windows(R) 2000 operating systems, minimizing the time required to administer an effective enterprise SAN solution and associated SAN resources. In conjunction with SAN consulting packages that offer installation and configuration services, INRANGE Technologies delivers an out of the box SAN solution.

"Our strategic relationship with VERITAS Software is a key component of our vision for enterprise SANs, and we are committed to meeting and exceeding expectations set by both companies," said Charles Foley, Executive Vice President and CTO for INRANGE Technologies. "VERITAS SANPoint Control is a pivotal heterogeneous solution, which is why INRANGE Technologies is committed to this partnership for total SAN management for our customers."

As SAN standards and customer requirements continue to develop, INRANGE Technology and VERITAS Software plan to tightly integrate their respective hardware and software products and services to deliver increasing scalability while lowering the risk of SAN deployment.

"VERITAS Software teams with leading SAN vendors such as INRANGE Technologies to deliver integrated solutions that equip data professionals to achieve optimal storage efficiency," said Robin Purohit, senior director of product management for SAN, Clustering and Replication, VERITAS Software. "Especially for enterprise-class, large scale SANs, customers looking to partner for one-stop solutions to manage their heterogeneous SANs can now rely on INRANGE Technologies."
