Can you provide some examples of crimes and what you think is appropriate. So far much of the debate has focused on crimes which by their nature are considered heinous (rape, murder). Are you referring to such instances as burning a cross or painting a swastika?
I for one have a very hard time trying assigning a penalty for a capital crime when the measurable results of the crime are the same as another.
Many conservatives view this as a one way politically correct assault on a nebulous concept that will further divide us along racial and gender lines. In other words it will only be applied one way.
