So far much of the debate has focused on crimes which by their nature are considered heinous (rape, murder). Are you referring to such instances as burning a cross or painting a swastika? I for one have a very hard time trying assigning a penalty for a capital crime when the measurable results of the crime are the same as another. Many conservatives view this as a one way politically correct assault on a nebulous concept that will further divide us along racial and gender lines. In other words it will only be applied one way.
