Left Coaster: Not much I can say about that strike at South Deep except that strikes are the way of life in SA. I can assure you that the mineworkers' trade union watches the gold price like a hawk. If the price goes up a few dollars they immediately want an increase in wages.

In any event, I'm sure GATA & Co will be pleased about the strike because it means less gold will be delivered to the market.

At the moment, there is a strike at the post office. No mail has been delivered for three weeks in Johannesburg. So, no checks can be sent. No-one gets paid.
