Money is already quite digital, you can zip it around all over, one side of the planet to the other, in and out of equities or bonds or whatever, quite easily and efficiently - it's when you change from one denomination to the other where you get whacked on the spreads.

'Ouch! Gold Currencies goes for 3-5% and lower for amounts greater than 5K...transfer fee is 1/10 of 1% to a maximum of one gram ($8-$9) All you need to do is to establish a network of exchange brokers who will exchnage gold for pesos. -:) I am sure there are bullion dealers in Mexico??'

Yes there are bullion dealers in México -g- ... the price of centenarios [1oz coin from the Porfiriato] is quoted in every daily newspaper right after the BMV and Dow daily results .... but you don't want to be changing back and forth all the time, the user gets beat on the spread ... what you want to do is find people to deal with who will exchange the gg [gold grams] for goods and services, and who will pay you directly in gg for your goods and services ... then a transfer fee of one one-thousandth part of the transaction is not heavy at all, especially considering that your balance retains real and concrete backing, as opposed to fiat.

To use e-gold to change loonies to pesos - well there you'd be paying two spreads again ... the e-gold would just be taking the place of the USD intermediate step used by the spoiled dinosaur banks i detest ... directly though - put into e-gold and used there on an ongoing basis - this is efficient ... it's got to be widely accepted for that, though.

Claude, i could write a book in response here -g- ... fingers tired though, long day, time to sleep ... later ... salut
