The rap on the door can happen any time, anywhere. Many fundamentalists in this country (of all kinds) would be only too happy to rap on any door. Most people learn nothing from history. All over the world people are living in places where there is no semblance of civic order. People in Iraq can expect a missile attack from US in the heat of the afternoon. I am sure you weren't thinking of the people of Iraq, but there you are.
