the pe on the dow is about 16. and the nas 100 forward pe, on reduced estimates is about 25.

Only the trough values of 1974 were lower.and they were a lot lower but the situation is hardly the same.

As far as the fed, they don't seem to be serious about anything. you saw that for the first time in 55 years, household worth contracted.

We are toast with the fed acting like this, in the short term.

The only silver lining is that, imo, the concerns about stagflation should be dead. The fed is staying tight, so there will be no 70's like energy crisis. One of these years we will have no inflation, decent growth, no energy problems, low rates, and great year over year comparisons.

Maybe next year. I was a cubs fan for awhile.
