Is this for real? I-link is going/proposing to build a private IP network to carry voice, fax and data...hello? how much money do you have?..and use a twisted pair to muliplex into 4 channels..hello? They are a reseller of LD at present----but banking on lowering LD to .02/pm with using IP telephony....is this for real? Can you drain the ocean with a straw....?
"As use of the traditional network increases and volume mandates, I-Link installs its own switches and begins to lease lines between the switches, thus creating the I-Link Private Network (IPN). In the process, I-Link replaces variable operational costs with fixed costs, much the same way Internet service providers do. (and ISP's are pilling up the cash right now, right?)
Thus, as in the Internet model, (The Internet Model, took BILLIONS to build of government $$$'s, over a decade) I-Link distributes its costs across users or number of minutes of voice data carried on the line.
For example, if a line between two switches costs $3000/mo., and I-Link carries 150,000 minutes on the line, I-Link's cost is $0.02/min. This provides operational cost advantages to I-Link. It also provides a foundation upon which additional technology can be built. It is important to note that these numbers are used only as hypothetical examples to illustrate the efficiencies gained by fixed-cost facilities; actual numbers are I-Link proprietary information."
