Yes, I understand you are correct. There is room here for multiple correct positions. They are not exclusive.

I did bail in July. My decision was to leave about 15% in equities except for Tech which I pretty much dumped all of except zero cost base stuff. Seems it self adjusted to become a nearly negligible fraction of the portfolio :(

So as an investor, I too am also very happy. I have my 10 year gains today, I also have cash waiting out this storm and can re-establish position. We'd have to do a 3 bagger from here before I fail to come out ahead of those who held on through the storm. Even after the horrendous tax bite.
