StorageTek and Network Appliance Team up to Provide Storage Backup Solutions; Development Continues to Expand Certified Backup Offerings

LOUISVILLE, Colo., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- StorageTek® (Storage Technology Corp.) (NYSE: STK - news), has become a member of the Network Appliance(TM) (Nasdaq: NTAP - news) Advantage Partner Program. Participation in this program enables StorageTek and Network Appliance to join forces to certify and support solutions using StorageTek tape libraries for backing up data from NetApp® filers.
A certified backup solution is available immediately where the data on NetApp filers is backed up onto StorageTek L-Series libraries using DLT tape drives in a SCSI environment. This tape backup solution uses NDMP enabled backup software applications.
StorageTek and Network Appliance are committed to providing their shared customers with cost effective, high-performance and scalable backup solutions. Additional tape backup configurations are in process of being certified that will expand the solution into new environments and provide customers with broader capabilities.
