"...I have some real issues with the way SI is set up and the kinds of subscribers it has catered to in the past and as a business person I have to say if they don't change their tune they will continue to have a declining subscribership. I really don't think they are interested in figuring out how to fix this problem but instead would rather find a different way to bring in revenues..."

I think that SI has a problem with the business model. People on the Net are really cheap, and if you make it free, they understand that they will get what they pay for.

If you ask them to pay, they will expect the world. SI's problem on the flip side is that they, in turn, try to get free content from other paying customers - people who would actually pay to dispense their wisdom, and it will never work.

This business model basically invites the present problem.

So while there might be thread police, they are barking up the wrong tree. Why would they expect to get a lifetime of good, free advice? It doesn't make any sense to me.
