That sort of sums up the American Revolution. The land was stolen from King George and we got away with it. Not noble, huh?

The land was not the personal property of King George even though he was sovereign over it. It did not become the personal property of the leaders of the revolution (except the part that all ready was or what they bought later). The American revolution was about who would govern America, not stealing property from one group to give it to another. In the process of the war both sides did steal from each other, including from civilian supporters of the other side but I would not consider that noble.
