freeus, sorry for the deflation in your account but that did not happen by prudent investment behavior. Of course, you may well have accumulated that large hoard by aggressive means over the past few years but nothing has happened thus far that warranted that drastic a decline were investments diversified across the spectrum of options available. An appropriate mix of cash(8%), insured bonds(35%) value funds(40%) and growth funds(17%) would not have deteriorated very much even in the past year.

Of course, we can blame the establishment if it makes us feel better but I'm not sure how constructive that is...
