(8088), an investor in early-stage Internet startups, said Francis Yuen, deputy chairman of Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008), has become a non-executive director of the company following completion of Techpacific's acquisition of Spike CyberWorks Ltd. Yuen, formerly deemed an ''independent non-executive director'', took on the new title after the transaction increased PCCW's stake in the company to 4.5 percent, it said. Yuen will also resign from the audit committee effective today, it added. Under the deal, Techpacific paid A$21.5 million (HK$87.3 million) in cash and new shares to acquire a 51 percent stake in Spike, an e-service provider. quamnet.com
