The other part of this that is a little worrisome: gold has moved up strongly in severe deflation ( i.e. 1920's) or steadily increasing inflation (1970's). The ERCI future inflation numbers have been negative, suggesting continuing contraction of the economy for some time to come. That may be one of the problems the gold market has to face.
