Terry, Nah, it wasn't Janice. She lived in San Francisco and knew how to pronounce Salinas. Besides, her version came much later. I can't remember who had the original hit, other than that it was not Kris himself. This guy could sing, which nobody has ever claimed Kris could do. He just couldn't pronounce. <g>
