Jimmy,
You are missing the point as usual.

0. What makes you think that Cyrix and AMD will ship 10 million in the next three quarters? AMD will have shipped about 2 mil (being very very optimistic given AMD's current yields, and the number of K5's shipped to date) and cyrix hasn't even begun shipping yet. They are just making noises about shipping and say will begin volume shipments in september. (A measure would be how many 6x86 have they sold?). And don't say its the MMX thing. Well Cyrix always had a better PR rating than Intel and couldn't sell into the classic market even then.

1. Even if IDT gets a very small fraction of the market share it will most likely be at the expense of AMD and Cyrix, for those who don't care about the Intel brand and/or pentium II.

2. Yes, IDT's ramp will be slow, until March quarter, but after that its a free for all between AMD/Cyrix/IDT. And given that IDT can sell the chip at a lower price (lower cost than either cyrix or AMD), they definitely have the advantage.

If I were AMD or Cyrix, I'd really worry about those margins and volumes which they base their cpu business on
