Corruption? How about we are just animals, thinking animals. And in some cases our "corrupt" nature is the one that will help us survive. The ability to cannibalize one's neighbors might be seen as corrupt in the suburbs- but on a lifeboat, when you are starving to death, it could be quite advantageous to have the will to do that- and it would be a "good" thing. Transgress? Depends upon the situation doesn't it?

The "FALL" is about the acquisition of knowledge. It is about passing from a purely animal state without a heavy societal overlay of mores and knowledge to a "civilized state" (imo..etc). Romance of the Fall is akin to pastoralism. It's great to admire the pasture, until you have to live in it in the winter.
