Sony's Killer New Palm nikkeibp.asiabiztech.com Sony's got it goin' on...this newest Palm can play music and video..is small and stylish...BUT... -only plays Sony's ATRAC3 compressed music.. you have to convert your .mp3's and .wav's into ATRAC3 files... not hard to do with Sony's software (I assume there is a Batch Covert function), but still a pain. -uses Sony's Magic gate (copyright protected) Memory Stick. This means you genereally cant make copies of copies of certain files. But more and more devices are shipping like this anyway.. the new Palms with SD cards will probably be limited like this as well. Sony is on the ball... Sandisk's Palm SD flash partners better get the show on the road and get those SD Palms out there.
