I admit, I suspect that humanity began in a better condition, and that the misuse of freedom introduced trouble into its situation "The Noble Savage" idea? Where would humanity have been in a better condition? Are we talking Neanderthal--Cro-Magnon? Do you believe that the ongoing growth of the human brain has distanced us from some "better condition"? Even the comparatively recent Huns ate their meat uncooked, but warmed it between their thighs and the back of their sweating horse. As we go back, the brain was smaller and smaller--the conceptions and beliefs more primitive and superstitious. Is the "better condition" somewhere in the span of the historical and fossil record--or does it belong to another branch of Homo erectus that went extinct without leaving a record? Did humans start with a cerebellum and then lose it--and evolve it again? Is there any reason to add anything to the scientific record as we know it? Any compelling reason to believe we were once in a "better condition"? I'm certainly not averse to the idea--I just don't believe I have come across it before...
