Seems if I remember right they were not only lacking in air cover but we didn't put them all the way to shore causing them to be wading ducks that were cut apart before they ever reached a position to be able to fight. If I remember right also the landing we chose for them was an exposed peninsula with a wide beach offering them no cover at all. Quite a cluster at any rate.
