Velo, my thoughts on the "cash is gone" issue: It appears that not only is the cash gone, but so are many of the people who were spending it in the markets! In my opinion, most of the people that have exited have done so because they're out of investing money - they were the "greater fools" at the top of the pyramid - they were the people that the stock speculators were selling to. Without those "greater fools" in the market with their foolish cash paying too much for equities, it's going to be very hard for the markets to see valuations like we have before, and it's probably going to be hard to retain the valuations we currently have.
