Yes, I tend to hang out with people on the right hand side of the IQ bell-curve, but I think my anecdotal perception is pretty well supported by the Trimtabs figures for the past few months. Most people I know are just now moving from the "denial" stage to the "confusion" stage, but have been moving some of their money to "safer" places. No torrent yet, but picking up momentum. It isn't completely lost on people, especially with the recent news coverage, that their stock fund portfolios have been going nowhere, at best, for the past 2 years. A drift downward from dow 10,000 for any length of time will turn unease into action, imo.
