I agree. She was let off because she was deemed not personally responsible. A lot of people disagreed with this and thought that she should have been convicted. She was 19 when captured. Her life was threatened and she was repeatedly raped, which I think weakened any resolve she might have had. But that is just a guess. Does it sound wrong?

When recruiting terrorists, I would think that the best place to start would be those people who are dispossessed already. Neo-nazi groups target those kinds of people in this country - the poor and uneducated. For white prison gangs, the threat of anal rape might convince someone that being a racist wasn't so bad. Black Muslims of the Louis Farrakhan ilk also target similar people. Moonies and Hare Krishnas: same. I don't see much difference between any of these groups or their methods.
