Earlie,

re:<<Yet there are times when I am crossing this land, either by car or even better in my little plane, when I look at its immensity , its staggering beauty, its breathtaking geography, and when I meet with the mostly superb folks that it has nurtured, I feel truly blessed. (You KNOW I am getting on in life when I dare commit such feelings to print). (g)>> as eddie said, beautifully expressed. as a native of FL, recently (6 yrs ago) moved to WA, seeing FL ravaged by over-population, development and crime (still can't figure out why so many canadians like it) i am planning on loading the camper on the back of the pick-up and spending the summer in the outback of BC and yukon (would actually like to buy and build a cabin in the mts. of BC for a getaway in the summer).
as you said, with age, and i'm not far behind you, i find getting away from the hoards and being in "vast" territories is much more appealing,

one of my son-in-laws is a pilot for twa (soon to be american). my daughter and he are going to visit next month and hope to rent a small plane to "explore" a little. he's been flying since his teens (his father was a twa pilot too). originally from maine and flew a small plane as a teen scouting for fishing boats. he has flown about everything except 747's, 777's, 767's but still like the small planes.

well, this is a bit OT, but as a longtime, somewhat of a lurker, i'd again like to thank you, heinz, MB, CB, AA, and all the rest on luc's thread <G> for a very profitable 1st quarter. i've made more $$ this quarter than any year as a gen. contractor in south FL.

thanks guys
Bill/WA
