Fair enough, maybe 'semi moron' should have been appropriate, but it's hard to see what he was getting at from that quote, and the quote was literal.
Yes, the Internet made some billionaires out of complete idiots with no business sense, but fortunately most of them were to stupid and greedy to realize their luck and they are now merely millionaires, heading fast for thousandaire-hood. But the Internet is amazing. I work inside it, I see what's coming, and we're barely at the beginning. I know that is hard to imagine, especially with todays doubt mongering, but I know you know it too.
This soon will pass, or long will pass, but pass it will. I don't think McNealy has been out there with the hype-mongers, he's been building a new industry and supplying the picks and shovels. And as long as the new industry doesn't suddenly disappear and we all go back to isolated pockets of computation running Redmond's buggy crap, then SUNW will do very well in the next 10 years.
