Retail investors wanted !! Schwab said that customer trading activity had fallen 31 per cent in February from a year ago and was down 13 per cent from January. Trading activity slowed further in the first nine days of March. Net new assets for the month reached $8.5bn and 79,000 new accounts were opened, sluggish figures but decent according to analysts. "We don't know when the retail investor is getting back into the market," said Richard Repetto, online brokerage analyst at Putnam Lovell.
