I think the operative descriptor is 'scornful.'

I wish X the Unknown would analyze this for us ... LOL. X has done an admirable job with an analysis recently in another place on the 'phenomenon' of male posters attempting to cyber-humiliate women by calling them 'fat.'

I think I've been flamed in about every conceivable way on Yahoo! before I joined SI ... and find the 'techniques' of degradation, humiliation etc. markedly similar, unfortunately.

For example, one poster a couple of years ago on Yahoo! found a grainy, black-and-white photo of a naked woman vomiting into a 'bullseye target' painted on a wooden plank floor in what appeared to be some sort of honky-tonk barroom ... and repeatedly posted that that 'person' was 'bonnuss.'

I've found that the posters who exhibit such perversions veiled in the anonymity of an alias go on, later in time, to reveal the same contemptuous characteristics to men, especially when their chosen investment strategies go sour.

The 'scorn' includes people who seriously consider the advice of the guru to be relevant, whether or not they actually follow through on it and purchase the recos of the guru.

It is my observation that the guru is indeed more contemptuous of those who 'respect' him or her than of those who 'serve' as his or her 'detractors.'

Just "Porchin'" ...

Have a good day, all.
