Very interesting, JohnG.

Especially interesting it was to note that the Chinese and Korean governments have finally joined hands and the Koreans are running the bidding procedures.

Another interesting point was the total massive size of the project: up to 5000 lines. With 30 mErlang user figures that makes up to 160,000 subscribers. Divided to 200 cities this makes over 800 subscribers per city. Not a bad number and certainly better than none.

Also the price levels were kept adequate, to say the least. 2.4 billion in handsets to 160,000 subscribers means that the average price of a handset is no less than 15,000 USD. This is certainly better than the GSM camp can muster.

Keep up the accurate reporting JohnG
