Memory is also very selective, especially in Alzheimer's where the advance of that disease seems random... he may not know what day of the week it is, but there are sufficient external cues around him that tells him it's Sunday... since his father was a Baptist minister and he never missed a Sunday going to church and Sunday School, that portion of his long term memory is apparently still intact... external cues around him might be telling him that it's Sunday, things like TV programs, overheard conversation about the weekend..... GZ
