I'm an odd duck because I encourage everyone on the team to practice open communication of the kind I describe. If there are issues they should be broadcast unless there is some reason you might embarrass someone. The transactions are still visible to anyone who wishes to look, but you can select your audience. Someone could go to the email records and see that, yes, Frank gave a heads up to Bob two days before the meeting.

The fact is that I believe all communication in my company is subject to inspection, by my boss, the government, my peers and/or anyone else that might care. I never say anything in email or on my phone to people I wouldn't want to come back to me in a work context. If I've 'privately' communicated to Bob a day before, this is still technically 'public' in that even though it isn't broadcast it exists for anyone who wishes to strongly, could conceivably follow the trail.

Most times, no one would, unless there was the suspicion of unlawful collusion. Anyone who wanted to know could see that I talked to him and this is how it should be. This is the kind of system I'm proposing.
