Whether they are ready for it or not, the world is as I describe it. Right now, the only people that have the data have no public responsibility but a political one. Are you telling me the FBI and NSA aren't using snoop technology and that these agencies are "apolitical"? Ha!

No, I'm afraid it is mostly semipublic now, it's just that it is used in dishonest ways. Look at the snooping that went on in the Monica Lewinsky case. People were looking through all sorts of things they shouldn't be. Do you think that investigation made the world one bit better? However, Whitewater, I believe had substance and represented a "way of doing things" that I find objectionable. Less of that kind of crap would happen if people knew they could be caught. I think "those kind of people" might just choose to leave politics. It might take a generation, but let's start now.

I can't stand Willie Brown even though he's a Democrat. He is a slimeball, IMO. I didn't like the way he operated when he was Speaker of the (CA) Assembly. I don't like him any better as SF's mayor. I don't like the way he panders to special interest groups. Maybe the world isn't ready for me. Or maybe the world as it is isn't ready for me. Viva, la Revolution!
