I hope everyone noticed today that the "new" Market Gems thread has now been essentially dismantled by SI for the most recent TOS violation by its originator. Apparently not chastened by the recent TOS clarifications or simply not caring about them, she inserted a link to an advertisement in her new thread header. After e-mails of complaint from me and others, it appears that SI has now revoked her posting privileges...essentially halting her ability to market her service on this website. Importantly, this is NOT about targeting one person; instead, it is about the "power of the pen" and yet another victory for people who really care about the quality of SI and hope to see it return to its original charter. Toward that end, we will maintain vigil and make ourselves heard again if it becomes necessary. I think we've proven that we will not accept blatant and repeated TOS violations to occur without making ourselves heard...in this case, the action that was taken was appropriately severe, and one we count as an accomplishment.
