The last 12 months have been an unmitigated disaster, right? Well, not completely so. Are we not much better equipped for the future with the lessons we've learned? Lessons I've learned are:
1. Selling covered calls on the owned stocks and puts with spare cash are an important part of investing. Thanks to Uncle Frank on this point.
2. I'll never buy OR KEEP a stock selling for more than 93 times earnings, i.e. 372 times the last quarter if that quarter is representative. Other than that I will keep on with LTBH; I haven't sold anything.
3. I'll generally never again recommend stocks to others. This forum is different. We all say yes this is a gorilla, not that's not a gorilla. We know that the ultimate buy sell decision is ours privately, alone.
Other people probably learned other things. I still think I was right that people without ANY margin do better than people who use it occasionally and the latter do better than people who use it regularly. Some may have learned this.
Who else has learned something useful? What have you learned?
