It was the closest thing to madness I've ever experienced and was actually fairly unpleasant. Sounds like the Masterpiece Theatre version of a psychotic break. It was "fairly unpleasant". Sort of like, "The other day I had the unfortunate circumstance of finding myself incarcerated with a large and angry roommate who insisted on my being his girlfriend.
