Brazilian market share is 2.3%, according to VTCH's 1996 Annual Report.
Other major players are:

Compaq......15.2%
IBM.........13.7
Itautec......8.7
UIS..........5.7
Acer.........4.4
HP...........4.4

The market seems wide open. "Currently, there are just 10 computers
per 1000 people in Brazil. This is compared to over 80 per 1000 people
in Southern Europe, and over 300 per 1000 people in the United States."

Brazil is also the fifth largest population in the world with the
"fastest growing and second highest per capita income in Latin America."

Furthermore, almost 2/3 of Brazil's 160 million people are under 30
years old. Over half are under 25.
