regarding timing of bounce/drop this upcoming week.

I also am concerned about MSFT, QCOM and implications to the NDX/DOW.

I am not the greatest TA, but on my weekly Q charts I have MSFT just rolling out of an up channel where the lower boundary starts wk of 12/17 @ 40.25, other connecting points are 12/31 and 2/17. This up channel is inside a larger downchannel easily seen which started 12/99.
seems to indicate MSFT could return to 40 or much lower (ouch!,)Please correct me if you see this differently.

WMT chart looks ugly. Diamonds use to be a girl's best friend. (ouch!)Seriously, with the amount of equity that has been wiped out of the baby boomers portfolio.
Retirement will have to be put off for a while and discretionary spending seriously curtailed. That has to effect retail seriously in the future.

on the other hand

Qcom has some major events this week which should help to support its price (at least in the short term)I realize that the Great Bear may need to devour most every equity, share and shareholder before we are done.

1. Sprint PCS will announce on Tuesday its plans to roll out Qcom’s new 1x technology at the CITA wireless conference.
2. Irwin Jacobs will speak at the same conference on Tuesday at 2:30 regarding the future of wireless.(webcast)
3. 3/26 China Unicom will put out its bid for the construction of a CDMA wireless network for 13 million subs in 2001, This should further substantiate the reality of China going CDMA in the soon timeframe.

Also AMAT has its annual shareholder meeting Thursday (webcast)

So somehow I am thinking QCOM and AMAT may lend stability for the very short while.

Also there is a possibility of a miracle by Greenie. Although it's quite unlikely <VBG>. Just trying to regain my sense of humor.
I am leaving this computer to celebrate st patrick's day - an annual event that should last a lifetime.

regards,
marketing
