Remember also that one of the most thoughtful things you can do (have done) is to recommend to a friend that he take a more active role in his investing, and to read the manual, among other texts, magazines & newsletters. And threads. Reminds me of a wonderful cartoon I saw in the latest Harvard Business Review. Two businessmen standing and talking. One guy says to the other "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach him to fish, there goes your leverage." The issue also contained a pretty lame article by Michael Porter arguing mainly that: -Michael Porter is a genius -The internet was, in some respects, overhyped. Next issue: Michael Porter on why Y2K won't be such a big deal.
