So the real problem is confined to the rug. Since they sell (and I use) the rug cleaning units that really soak the rug when use use them, a temporary ( < week) wetness shouldn't hurt.
I visited my son's home in Houston after rug cleaner came in, very wet for 2 days.No problem.
The foam (rubber) pad often installed under the rug must be checked for wetness, because if left soaked you might get the
problem you mentioned. If no pad, then no problem.Just have rug cleaned after you get it dry.I think their cleaning fluid has an
anti-fungal effect ,or you could ask them about it.
