When Genius Failed by Roger Lowenstein

Excellent coverage of the failure of Long Term Capital Management (LTCM) in 1998. At one time, LTCM controlled more money than any mutual fund. Their record prior to the crash was amazing considering the huge amount of capital they had to invest.

On Friday August 21, 1998, the firm dropped $553M or 15% of its capital.

If you read Liar's Poker, this brings back some of the characters.

I liked reading it from cover to cover.
