Microsoft [MSFT-57.31]. Negative since $107 5/16, Christmas, 1999 and more so now. Not hardly. Here are the negatives: management by aggression, Linux, Justice and far from revolutionary products. Here are the positives, cash but with a stock losing currency value…fast. [ask Yahoo [28.19] what THAT means…and ask AOL [48.36] how they turned that currency into real LT value. 3.15.01 Update: $54.00 - no change-blah. Your negatives:
A negative from the management from aggression? Praise is appropriate there, otherwise I wouldn't be invested. A negative impact from Linux? <vbg> And hey, it's free too, I'll take out your trash if you rub my back! A negative from the DoJ? That BTW, is being worked 'out' by the Court of Law, stay tuned. Far from revolutionary products? Could be, but that doesn't matter in the real world, unfortunately to some. It's called marketing. Many just don't seem to grasp that part when complaining is far easier via the selective modern day Sherman Act application. Why bother when a previous administration is willing to accommodate their "wishes" with comfortable ways around effort.
Your positives:
Cash? Yup, there's some of that, and that indeed is a positive, but your other positives mention:
Stock losing value fast? Lately no. Others in the same area? A painful answer I'm sure of, is yes. Ask AOL how to avoid the YHOO path for LT value realization? Oh, Okay.
If that's your fundamental analysis of a company -- I don't want to know your technical perspective, sorry. When Rick S. upgrades, you will know it's time for Your firm to jump aboard the GS ship. Watch him if you're aware, I will, he just seems to know when it's time. <G>
It's a Bear for sure, Mr. Fleck right, every now and again. At what cost to conviction did it cost him? Plenty, even 'till now.
