2001-02-21 Peak Energy Services Ltd. Announces Strong Fourth Quarter Results for 2000

"OUTLOOK
The outlook for the Company has never been stronger. Activity is
currently at the highest level in the history of the Canadian oil
and gas services industry. We continue to reap the benefits of
our positive operating leverage as evidenced by our January 2001
results. Revenue for the month of January 2001 is 27% higher than
January 2000, EBITDA is over 55% higher and earnings are more than
double.

Based on comments from our customers, the balance of 2001 will be
very strong by historical measures, barring any significant
outside influences such as weather. As a result of these strong
activity levels, we will be increasing our prices in our drilling
services businesses for the second half of 2001. As long as
hydrocarbon prices remain stable we expect these strong activity
levels to continue into 2002.

The Peak management team remains highly committed to maximizing
shareholder value. While our focus over the past several months
has been on our internal expansion initiatives, we are actively
reviewing several strategic merger or acquisition opportunities
that would result in enhanced shareholder value.
