The unknowns are how much is demand shrinking, and whether there are jobs waiting for the people displaced by the rif. I agree that the outcome could be a disaster. But it isn't visible yet. ANd in fact it could be merely the long-awaited cooling of demand, and no more. Just the pause that refreshes, so to speak.
