Paul:

"The processor will be released around March 19, according to sources familiar with the chipmaker's plans. Compaq Computer is also working on an Athlon-based notebook.

The chip is expected to be launched at multiple clock speeds and will include at least a 900MHz version, sources said....

Hewlett-Packard may be one of AMD's first mobile Athlon customers....More importantly for AMD, however, is that it plans to offer the new chip in both Pavilion notebooks for the consumer market and OmniBook notebooks for business users."

As well, last I heard AMD planned to "ship the processors in Q1 with volume production in H1..."

Ever hopeful Intellabees are just wishing and hoping that AMD doesn't, once again blow INTC out of the pond, and "ship the processors in Q1 with volume production in H1..."...Got a feeling, though, that wishing and hoping just aren't going to cut it much longer for these naive Intellabees as Y2001 marks the next phase in the "storming of Bastille" by AMD as AMD introduces its family of palomino processors...thus opening the door to the mobile, server and workstation spaces...

Hey Paul, how is INTC gonna even make $0.50 in Y2001 competing with the palomino family on top of its capital arm, P3 and P4 woes???
