Amnis Systems (Formerly Optivision) and Cisco Will Demonstrate Broadband Streaming Video at CeBIT
Broadband Network Attached MPEG video Over IP Combined With Cisco Network Equipment
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Amnis Systems Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AMNM - news; formerly Optivision Inc.), a leading provider of networked streaming video products, today announced that its products will be used by Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO - news) in their exhibition at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany this month. This highlights the long and strong partnership and full product interoperability between Amnis Systems and Cisco Systems.

Amnis Systems' interoperable network attached streaming video products are being combined with Cisco Systems Gigabit Switch Router (GSR) products to illustrate broadcast quality streaming video over optical based IP networks. This demonstration shows the use of products based on industry standard network and video compression technologies for an end-to-end solution. Such standards include Ethernet, IP, multicast, and SNMP network protocols and MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 digital video ranging from less than 1 Mbit/sec up to 15 Mbit/sec bit rates. This solution can be scaled to support multiple locations, additional live streaming video channels and larger numbers of desktop users.

Cisco will be showing the NAC(TM)-3000 network attached live streaming video server transmitting multicast MPEG video over IP connected directly to the Cisco GSR product. The multicast streams are received using the Amnis network attached receivers for unattended remote operation and the LivePlayer(TM) live streaming video desktop player software.

``We are pleased to be part of Cisco's exhibition at the CeBIT trade show,'' said Michael Liccardo, President/CEO of Amnis Systems. ``Our strong partnership with Cisco is very valuable and continues to generate new business opportunities for both companies in the emerging enterprise market for broadband streaming video applications.''
