Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC) today announced that it will
Webcast its annual meeting in order to give the bank's shareholders and others
remote access. The company is utilizing technology to break down barriers to
ensure that all investors and interested parties around the world have access
to information about the company. The meeting is scheduled for April 25, 2001
at 10 a.m. EDT. The live Webcast can be accessed at
bankofamerica.com. An invitation to the meeting,
including Webcast access, was distributed to shareholders in the company's
proxy, which was filed today with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Webcast will give participants the opportunity to hear an important
moment in the bank's history, the retirement of McColl as chairman and chief
executive officer. At the meeting, he will be handing over the reins to
Kenneth D. Lewis, currently president and chief operating officer, who will
become the company's new chairman and chief executive officer.
In addition to being able to listen to the meeting, participants will be
