<<Don't blame Greenspan for investors failing to do their homework>>

JRI: I don't tend to do that. Investors must be responsible for their own actions. I was fortunate to take some profits when a lot of the high flyers were much higher. Should I have sold more? yes....yet, I have a long time horizon and am not worried.

We now have analysts like Kumar saying a full fledged recession may be likely...Has Greenspan been a good steward of our economy? I don't think so...and many agree with me.

You are right that there were very inflated valuations in 1999. It was clear that 'the new metrics' being used to value firms would not last forever. I have been involved with start-ups in the software arena and the venture capital community. Things were out of line 12-18 months ago. Now many of the companies without STRONG business models and clear paths to profitability are gone...Yet, the venture funding field has also over-corrected like the Nasdaq. This could have a detrimental impact on innovation in the U.S. and overseas.

Good Luck Investing.

Best Regards,

Scott
