Max, Re: Mobile PIII 1GHz operates at 1.7V!!!

Okay, I take everything back. This is just another desperate attempt by Intel to get publicity and keep AMD out of the (laptop) game. With 1.7V the "mobile" PIII consumes up to 34(!) Watts and 24,8W for typical use (look at the newly published data sheets). I don't think that Intel did themselves a favor with this launch. Now the entry MHz level for laptops will be much higher while Intel sweet-spot -- and I think the unusual high voltage compared to other mobile offerings from Intel is evidence enough -- is 100-200 MHz lower.
