Frank, I agree. A concern of mine was that this thread was becoming sidetracked on to the techs (and gold). Some of that is good as background and for general interest - but it was getting a little thick. And the few times I have had a look over at the new thread it seems 90% focused on 'other than oil/oil service'. That's fine if that's what folks want to talk about, but I would like to see a dedicated oil/oil service thread. Maybe I should start a third party thread candidate: Big Dog's Boom Boom Room Maybe in the Boom Boom Room we could gather the oil talkers and leave the others to enjoy talking about tech, etc. elsewhere. For the record, and FWIW, I am opposed to a moderated thread as I feel that if someone is turned off enough by a poster's comments he can use "ignore" and never have to be bothered. The "clubby" approach don't cut it with me. In fact, I suspect that not one poster can truthfully say that he/she didn't sometimes enjoy reading the banter. It's very easy to avoid a food fight...1) Do not reply. 2) Use ignore. Has anyone ever seen me get dragged into any of these 'events'. No. Does everyone think that I don't have any opinions on those matters? Of course I do...but what's the point of fueling the fire? Makes no sense. I even use ignore myself...but I don't make a public matter of announcing to the individual and tot he board that I'm going to do so. What good would that serve? I simply turn on ignore and go about my business...works great! That's the long and short of it for me. If 8 people will ask me to start the Boom Boom Room for the discussion of oil/oil service (with a smattering of other stuff) I will do so. (I say 8 since that is the number kodiak used to start the plastic thread.) If any lurkers have views on this, send me email to mike@ktc.com and I will post same on this thread, if desired. Standing by...
