I was referring to the Fathers of the Church. Anyway, I looked over some passages in some of the Church Fathers. It is a matter of judgment how much the conflict with Judaism preoccupied them. One should realize that at the time, in the earlier phase of the Empire, Jews were actively participating in persecuting Christians, so there was enmity on both sides, and the Jews were relatively advantaged politically. Considering that, a lot of the pronouncements are pretty mild, mainly putting forth the theory that election belonged to the Church (including Jews in the church), not the Jewish people, and the widespread conviction that the Destruction of the Temple and the Diaspora were a punishment for rejecting Christ. Considering the propensity of the Old Testament to interpret calamity as punishment for infidelity, the use of the idea is hardly novel.
