Politics is not OT at this point. Greenspan and McCain are the two biggest players now. It's all about renewed hope and confidence out of an abyssmal mood. Rate cuts and campaign finance reform. The two most important issues now. One to save the markets the other to reform the election process and sock it to the two major parties.

Follow the political spin and you'll see the tremendous pressure on Greenspan to do more than he might otherwise do. Unless his agenda is to kill the Bush tax cut by driving us into deeper recession he will do A LOT tomorrow, aggressively cutting maybe a full point, but probably .75 or at least .50 with more cuts promised. And I for one do not see how that could be priced in. We have gone straight down lately into deep oversold territories giving future growth, recovery and potential no value at all or even negative value.

Last Friday's thread talk about LU going bankrupt and now they come up with this 6.5 billion deal which those who follow it knew was there all along. Manipulation or just blind fear on the downside has been at a maximum lately. Beware the squeeze. If there was ever a time for shorts to go to the sidelines this it is. Brave bulls bargain-hunting will probably be well-rewarded in the next 72 hours.
